Profiles of Working Memory for Educational Research

POWER.png

Working memory - an individual’s ability to process and store incoming information over short periods - is a more powerful predictor of learning in children than IQ, but working memory is not considered in contemporary instructional design.

Following up on previous research, we are developing longitudinal norms for a game-based comprehensive working memory battery for children. We are working with kids in 1st through 5th grades to determine how working memory develops over time, and how it interacts with academic achievements.
