Monolingual & Bilingual Reading Comprehension 12

We are conducting this project to learn how children learn to read for meaning. We are part of a three university consortium with Arizona State University, the University of Kansas Medical Center, and Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. Children are assessed on measures of reading comprehension and related skills. Participation is voluntary. If you consent for your child to participate, he/she will:

  • Complete tests that take about 5-6 hours, broken into two to three shorter sessions and

  • You will be asked to complete a questionnaire concerning your family and your child that will take about 60 minutes to complete

What Do Children Receive?

1. $75 at the end of the study

2. The knowledge that they have helped us learn more about how children learn to read for meaning
